Academic Qualifications: He holds a bachelor’s degree in English language & literature from the University of Madras, a post-graduate qualification in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations & Labour Welfare from the prestigious X.L.R.I., Jamshedpur and a Diploma in Training and Development from the Indian Society for Training & Development.

Professional Background: He is the Founder & Director of Professional Consultancy Services and The Phoenix Company; He has advised the Danish Industrialisation Fund for Developing Countries [IFU] on HR matters. His consultancy experience has been in Organisation Development and HRD, besides carrying out top management selection assignments in India, Europe and the Middle East; he has been on the selection panels for the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and the Confederation of Indian Industry. Mr. Maithreya was on the Board of Studies of the Mother Teresa’s Women’s University. He has consulted for India’s largest micro-credit organisation, the Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust [BYST] in the areas of Organisation Development, Systems & Procedures and Search & Selection.

Before his entrepreneurial career he worked at Sandoz, Wipro, Britannia, Indchem - Sanmar and Arcon Consultants.

Professional Contributions: Mr. Maithreya has developed the PAPA [Performance Appraisal & Potential Assessment System] which has some special characteristics making it more holistic. He has also formulated different versions of the CVKM Twin Scale used for measuring perceptions. He has created the ‘Self-clarification questionnaire’, an inventory used for career counselling and personal development.

Faculty Member: He has been a visiting faculty member for post-graduate and graduate students in Human Resource Management and Organisation Development  at the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts [ICFAI], Institute of Technology and Management [ITM], Madras School of Social Work [MSSW] , Stella Maris College and the University of Madras.

Writer, Author & Journalist: He was the Marketing Adviser & Editorial Coordinator for the International Times Reports on Denmark in The Economic Times. He has also contributed to newspapers and magazines on various subjects. His views on cricket, body language and education have been featured in newspapers. He has also authored three books – ‘Theosophy, The Theosophical Society & Its Founders’, ‘The Vision of Sanjaya’ which is an esoteric interpretation of the Mahabharata in a play form and 'The Law of Karma - A Theosophical View'.

Speaker: He has spoken on various subjects in relation to Human Resource Management besides comparative religion, philosophy and science. He has also taught post-graduate students as a visiting faculty member. His speaking career began at school and later in college during which time he has won several prizes.

Special Projects: He has trained for the corporate and NGO sectors and has been a faculty on the Queen’s project for training the Tamil Nadu Police officers and has trained Government Doctors. He was involved in coordinating some of the key arrangements for the Partnership Summit hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry. He has been on the Advisory Panel on the FM Radio Channel of M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai. He is on the Ethics Committees of the Kumaran Hospital and the Cancer Institute (WIA) Adyar. He has coordinated the activities of the HR Sub-committee of the Task-force on Electronics for Healthcare set up by the  Department of Electronics of the Government of India. He was also the Head of the Conference Management  Committee for the ICCF 16 [International Conference on Cold Fusion - Condensed Matter Nuclear Science] held in India. He was responsible for the preparation of the bid on behalf of the Women’s Cricket Association of India for the World Cup.

Theosophist & Philanthropist: Mr. Chaganti V.K. Maithreya is a fifth generation Theosophist. He is the past President & past Vice President of the Madras Theosophical Federation & has also  been the President of the Theosophical Order of Service, Chennai Region, which is involved in a variety of large social service projects including relief for disaster & tsunami affected persons, communal harmony, education, animal welfare, environment protection and free medical service for needy patients, particularly in the ophthalmic discipline. Besides, he has also been on the International Senior Council of The International Order of The Round Table and the head for India. He has been the Assistant Director of the Theosophical Workers Training Camp, the Convenor of the South Indian Theosophical Conference [Easter Conference] and has been a faculty member at The School of the Wisdom at The Theosophical Society, Adyar. He has been a speaker at the International Conventions of The Theosophical Society. He was a nominee for the post of international President of The Theosophical Society. He is a Co-Founder of a philanthropic movement named ‘World Care Way’. Mr. Maithreya's articles have been published in theosophical magazines across the world.

Family: Maithreya is the only son of Mr. Ch.Sankar Rao and Mrs. Meenakshi Sankar Rao.  Maithreya is married to Dr. Sunita Maithreya and has two daughters, Upasika and Aditi.
